Hi All
I have installed SCM 4.1 on Windows 2003 (x 64) Bit. Installation went on well without any errors. I installed Max DB 7.6.0
When i am trying to access the Live cache through LC10. I am getting error "Database Host not Found".
I checked db59 t code too. but when i am trying to access the Live cache, its failing to connect
Can you please provide me, what configurtaion steps needs to be done before checking for LC10 transaction.
Thanks in Advance
Ram
Hello Ram,
which installation CD have you used for liveCache ? i just foud this one: 51031447_1
it should contain liveCache 7.5. IT does nto make sense to try to connect from scm4.1 to livecache 7.6
suggestion ,
-> drop and uninstall livecache 7.6 (sap note 599129 ),
-> download installation guide for windows LC7.5
-> follow the guide to isntall LC
Regards
Ivan

Hello Ram,
something disturbing is mentiond in th your text.
-> what database do you use for SCM 4.1 ?
-> why did you installed Maxdb 7.6 ?
SCM 4.1 should be connected to liveCache 7.5 , please go to service marketplace and download
installation guide fro live|cache 7.5, the guide contains all required steps

Hi Ivan,
Thanks for your reply
we have used Oracle 10g (RDBMS) 10.2.0.as DB.
We have downloaded software from
https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/swdc. in that nowhere we found Live cache 7.5. they mentioned only 7.6.0. so we have installed the same
Here are the components
1. OS - Windows 2003 Enterprise Server 2003 (64 Bit)
2.Java JDK :- j2sdk1.4.2_17 -X64
3. DB :- Oracle 10g 10.2.0
4.Exports - SCM 4.1 ( 3 exports)
5.Kernel 6.40 - NUC (Non Unicode)
6. IGS
7.Oracle Cleint - Oracle Client 10.2.0
8.Live Cache - 7.6.0 (This version only available in SWDC)
9.Max DB 7.6.0
10.Installation master for X64
Installtion went on well without any errors ( aproximately it took 6 hrs to complete)
Central Instance , DB instance both installed w/o any errors
we have given SCM as SYS ID while installtion. Livecache taken as LCA automatically. i have maintained the correct CONTROL ,SAPLCA passwords correctly
When i checked the Live cache console with LC10 T code , i am facing the error
Name and Server :- LCA -VTAMADA
DBMRFC Function :- DBM_EXECUTE
Coomand :- dbm_version
Error :- DBM Error
Return code 4
error message :- database host not found
Note :- VTAMADA is host name
when i checked the intergartion connection in DB59, I am getting error too.
SAPDB_DBM (DBM RFC Coomand mode)
SAPDB_DBM_DAEMON( DBMRFC Session mode)
these two rfc are working fine too..
In SM49 - these commands are working fine..
Can you please throw some light on this..where i am doing wrong steps..
If you can share any installaton procedure and prerequisites, i will be very thankful to you
Thanks and Regards
Ram
"Name and Server :- LCA -VTAMADA
DBMRFC Function :- DBM_EXECUTE
Coomand :- dbm_version
Error :- DBM Error
Return code 4
error message :- database host not found
Note :- VTAMADA is host name"
1) Please login to the server VTAMADA & update with output of the following commands:
hostname
dbmcli inst_enum
dbmcli db_enum
sdbregview -l
2) In SM49 transaction, use the dbmcli tool execute '-n VTAMADA db_enum' & post the output.
3) Do you have the SCM 4.1 and liveCache running on the same server?
4) And to install the liveCache instance supported for SCM 4.1 please follow the liveCache
