Can we share SCM 5.1 IDES and R/3 ECC 6.0 SR3 IDES within the same H/W box?

Dear Guru,

We already have R/3 ECC 6.0 SR3 implemented on Windows Server platform.

We will need to implement SCM 5.1 IDES but could afford a new H/W.

Can anyone please adivse whether we can share SCM 5.1 IDES and R/3 ECC 6.0 SR3 IDES within the same H/W box ?

The purpose is for internal learning. There will be only 1-2 concurrent users at a time.

You have to use a technique called MCOD(Multiple Components on One Database), SAP provides the possibilityto install and operate several different mySAP.com components in one physical database. For example, it is possible to operate an SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) system, an SAP R/3 system and an SAP Workplace system in one database on one server. In the same way, the operation of several identical components, for example several R/3 systems in one database are conceivable as well.
