Issue on Freight Purchase Orders (maintain transportation planning point)

Hi, All,

In order to settle shipment cost documents, it is necessary to have a

freight purchase order already exist or have the system create one at

time of settlement. To have the system create one at time of settlement

is a configuration setting for the Shipment Cost Item Category.

Configuration is as below:

1. Assign a Company Code to each Transportation Planning Point

Enterprise Structure > Definition > LE > Maintain TPPT

2. Assign Purchasing Data for Shipment costs

LE > Transportation > Shipment Costs > Settlement > Assign Purchasing Data

Enter Purchasing Org, Purchasing Group, and plant for each TPPT and Shipment Cost Type

The issue is that the combination TPPT and shipment cost only apply for one plant! But the business want to apply for multiple plants. The error message 'An entry already exists with the same key'.

How to solve this issue.

Hi!

If you have different plants that are located in different places it´s very recommendable to create a tranport planning point for each one. This will allow you to create purchase orders for each TPP.

With diferents TPP for each plant, you could assing the same purchase data to different TTP.

When shipments are created, you load deliveries on them. You also don't know which plant is there. These deliveries can come from multiple plants. So one shipment will have deliveries from multiple plants. So we cannot have trans planning points dependent on plants because you wonu2019t know which one to use.

How would you select a TPPT while creating he shipment if you have multiple TPPTs? Because one shipment will not carry deliveries all from one plant only. It will carry deliveries from multiple plants/shipping points.

On OVXC transaction you can assign all plants to all shipping points in order to pick deliveries from several plant from one TTP.

If the idea is cost can be calculated on all the plant, the shippment could take the TTP from is starting and collecting deliveries from all others plants. This means the shippment belong to TTP "X", but can collect from W, Y o Z TTP.

Thanks for your answer. What's the relationship between TPPT and shipping point?

When you select all the deliveries to be uploaded on the truck, you have to select a TPP and Shipment Type. Then you go to "Select deliveries" and there you can see the Shipping points.

As you know, the shipping point are assinged to plants, so if you shippment is not bounded to only one shipping point then should allow you to pick deliveries from all plants.
