I have worked extensively with Cognos 8.2 against SAP BW and new to BO against BW. Performance in BO importing the hierarchies and all other objects that exist in a query works great, however I was looking for an option to selectively import ONLY the hierarchies or objects that are relevant to the query design.
It looks like the default in BO Universe is to import ALL objects for the query vs bring in only what you want.... and then hide/delete from the universe. I worry about long term performance and ability to be able to select what gets imported, for example, we have some 20 different Cost Center hierarchies and this report only uses one hierarchy with about 100 cost centers, so i would not want to bring in all hierarchies.
