URL assignment for picture (.jpg) file stored in MIME repository of SRM ser
Hello CCM seniors,
We are implementing SRM 4.0 with EBP 5.0.
We have installed CCM 2.0 as an add on.
EBP and CCM are on single server and same client.
CAT and CSE are also on same client.
We have done product masters transfer from EBP to CCM with the report BBP_CCM_transfer_catalog.
The products can be seen in a new catalog (SRM_EXTRACTED_CTLG) in CAT --> edit catalogs link.
I have assigned the catergories of this catalog to that of master and mapped the content.
Now the products are visible in same catergory of master catalog.
My master catalog can be viewed in EBP portal and I can make shopping cart also from the products from master catalog.
Now the remaining task is linkage of url to individual items so that users can see picture of the resp. item when they are making shpping cart in EBP.
For this I have stored my picture(.jpg) file in the mime repository of my SRM server.
I have formed the URL with server, domain and services.
I could even test this URL ie. when I paste this URL in IE it fetches the picture from mime repository of my SRM server DQSRMCOM5507.
Now my task is to link this URL to individual item in master catalog.
My knowledge is weak here.
I can enter URL in:
1. MIME url under "schema" tabstrip in master catalog.
2. for characteristic " IMAGE" for the given item.
3. for characteristic " PICTURE" for the given item.
(I am not clear provision of two diff chara. viz. image and picture for same purpose.)
There are three fields as description, URL and mime type.
mime type I am entering as "image/jpeg".
Currently I have done all these three entries.
Can somebody pl. tell me what is the correct setting for this URL assignment?
PS - if somebody wants more clarity I can send screenshots on his/her personal ID.

Concerning points rewarded, you can assign me additional points by selecting "solved problem" on this answer for example.
Concerning your files upload.
I uploaded @ 30 .jpg files manually in mime of SRM server.one by one.
any method by which i can upload all 500 i am having??
I am not sure that storing the images in SRM server database is a good solution. My advice would be to store the file in a physical folder on the server, and create an alias to it. Then you'll be abble to upload all the files in the physical folder in one step.
and assignment of URL to "picture" chara of item will be manual only , or there is some tool for the same??
You can do that through CCM uploading BADIs or char value BADI.
