valuation class in service master

hi experts

please tell what is the use of valuation class in service master.

can i get the automatic G/L and cost center from valuation class( in service master.) when i make service PO.

if so please tell the procedure

hi,

We are assigning the valuation class to fetch the correct G/L account to be posted with. In service, account keys GBB, WRX will be updated. To fetch these account keys we need valuation class.

Hi,

This can be done through Automatic account assignment.

Following are the steps:

OMWD -activate account grouping code.

OMSK -create val.class,assign material type to account ref cat.

OBYC -for assighning GL codes to desired valuation class

If you assign valuation class to service master then you can get automatic G/L assigned but you will not get the cost center.

you have to maintain the g/l accounts for your valuation class in OBYC.

Hi,

If you assign val class in service master, system will determine GL account automatically using OBYC settings , here Val class is assigned to a GL account so that Postings will be done during service entry sheet creation. Normally Val class 3200 is used for services.
