Creating a Theme

Hey!

I have created a theme with the theme editor by taking a theme template and choose "Save as". When im selecting "Personalize", I cant find the themes i have created under "Select Theme".

Can someone of you help me out? Do i have to create a Desktop & Display rules to use the theme? or the ITS theme Generator?

go to "system adminsitration / portal display / desktops & display rules"

navigate to "Portal Users / Standard Portal User"

open "Default Portal Desktop" and add your theme from the "themes"-directory right below.

Thanx man. I thried that now, and it worked. I added a theme, and it showed up in the "Personalize" menu.

But when im trying to delete it from the Default Portal Desktom, and add some other themes, it doesnt react. Thried that on several portal installations. Or is it just that it takes extreamely long time? Since the statusbar is still processing?

well, you made everything correct. it shouldn't be so time consuming...

Hi,

Its not advisable to modify the default portal desktop. The alternative would be to create custom portal desktop and assign it to the Role/user/etc based on the requirement.

'Removing Themes' will not take long hours, please check the defaultTrace.x.log for error details.

I have created a custom portal desktop and it works fine assigning and removing themes. Dont know why it didnt work out for the default portal desktop, but it solved my problem !

You will be able to edit some themes only. For more info about portal themes thses docs will help you:

hi,

Yes you have to create a desktop and to it assign the theme you saved and the default framework page. Then assign it to the user or role under master rule collection.
