guiengine: no GUI connected; waiting for a connection on host

Dear Gurus

I am planning to install ECC 5.0 on linux, while installing, Tthe GUI screen getting crashed after 2-3 minutes (after entering SID and instance number). The message says ( guiengine: no GUI connected; waiting for a connection on host host1.domain.com ............)..I set JAVA_HOME and DISPLAY variable also , and xclock displaying Clock.

But why Gui screen getting crashed..

I suspects little on java version which is there in the OS by default...

Q1. i want to know which linux i am using?

Q2. which java/JDK do i need to install on to my server.

Q3. i could not able to install j2sdk-1_4_2_12-linux-i586.rpm on this machine.

These are the command values which i got from the OS level
