Wily Introscope Error

Hi All,

I am configuring SMD for our landscape.

I have successfully installed Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager 8.0 on aur solution manager system and Wily Introscope agent on our monitored system ie.a CRM system.

Our SMD is at SP17.

However when i try to launch the Introscope Agent Setup i get the following error:

Diagnostic Setup->Managed System->Introscope Agent

500 Internal Server Error

SAP NetWeaver Application Server 7.00/Java AS 7.00

Failed to process request. Please contact your system administrator.

Error Summary

Root Cause

The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:

com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.context.ContextException: Node(WilyAdmin.EMS): must not bind an empty collection to a Node of cardinality 1..1 or 1..n

Hello

I had the same problem. The error was caused by the password for the Wily Introscope user Guest that was not set correctly in the Advanced Setup

Check in the Solution Manager Diagnostics under:

Diagnostic Setup -> Diagnostic System -> Advanced Setup -> Wily & NWA

You have to set the correct password for the Guest user, and pay attention also to the Webview port

Hi Roberto,

Now both the above errors are gone.

I changed the password for Guest user and also changed the EM port back to deafult 6001.

But now i am getting a warning while running the Monitoring System Setup wizard:

It mentions about EP Agent not found.

As per the Wily Installation Guide:

Host-Level Introscope Agent (on the managed systems)

The so-called Introscope Host Agent is installed once per host. It runs as part of the

SMDAgent in the SMDAgent process to collect data on operating system level, e.g.,

from saposcol, GC logs, ABAP instances, and TREX. The Host Agent generates less

load on the Enterprise Manager than a normal agent. For this reason, it should not

be included in the memory sizing calculation above. The Host agent is configured

automatically by the SMD setup wizard for managed systems.

In previous releases, the Introscope Environment Performance Agent (EPAgent)

took the role of the host-level agent. The EPAgent is now replaced by the host-level

agent. The EPAgent is not supported any more.

So what i understand is i have to install Host-level Introscope Agent.

Please tell me where can i find the relevant files.

Hi,

did you set the profile parameters to start the bytecode agent in the apab instance profile?

For example:

jstartup/recorder = java -classpath ../j2ee/cluster/bootstrap/launcher.jar com.sap.engine.offline..OfflineTool.Start com.sap.engine.flightrecorder.core.Collector ../j2ee/cluster/bootstrap/ -node %nodeID% %startTime% -bz $(DIR_GLOBAL) -exitcode %exitcode%

Hello, I have a question. We are running Solution Manager 7.0 EPH1 (enhancement Pak 1) on Aix.

How do you specify the Enterprise Manager URL and the port number? In the previous version when you went to http://solman:50000/smd.>Diagnostic Setup>Managed Sustems.---->Introscope Agent, you were able to Specify Enterprise Manager settings by selecting EDIT Settings button. In EPH1 there is no EDIT setting buttion. Does anyone have an idea how to enter the value?

the wily host parameters can be set in the SolMan Diagnostics (http://<solmanhost>:<port>/smd). There you have to go to "Diagnostics System" -> "Advanced Setup". Open the register "wily" and with the button "Add row" the wily host parameters can be entered.

This can also be done with the setup wizard link in "Diagnostics System".

You should install SMD agent on Monitored system.

try this

http://<host>:8081/webview or

http://<host>:8081/workstation

Check If you are getting the same error.

Feel free to revert back.

If yes please guide me with the steps :

Hi Ganesh,

I just installed Wily & the error's gone.

You need to install SMD agent on every satellite system.

Download the SAR file from SMP & run sapinst.exe to install the SMD agent.

I am still getting the same error when i click on Diagnostic Setup-> Managed Systems->Introscope Agent.

In order to investigate the issue more effectively i will outline the steps what has already been done and the steps that are still pending:

SMD Monitoring System :SM1 (Solution manager)

SMD Monitored System :DC1 (CRM System)

Steps:

1:Solution Manager Diagnostic package applied successfully on SM1 and DC1.

2:Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager 8.0 successfully installed.

3:Setup for Monitoring System (Diagnostic Setup>Diagnostic System>Setup Wizard) ==> Successfully completed.

4:Setup for Monitored System (Diagnostic Setup>Managed Systems>Setup Wizard) ==> Error in 1 task

While configuring SMD, is it mandatory to install the Willy agent/manager as well??...coz I havn't installed either one, just installed the SMD agent and I'm encountering the same error as you.

Yes it is mandatory to install the Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager and the Agent to monitor the Java stack.I have installed both but still i am getting this error.
