I got the error RSM170 "No authorization for variant ... from process type" ... together with error RSM894 "An internal error occurred during the authorization check" during check of process chain in RSPC.

The cause was that corresponding datasource was 3x instead of 7x in target system (in development system it was 7x, but in Quality and Production it was 3x).

After migrating of datasource the error was corrected.

So it was not an authorization issue.

Hi

I think you should try adding SAP_ALL to the user doing the import. If this solves the problem, you are clearly facing an authorization problem.

Perhaps you should also check the authorizations of user DDIC as well.

If adding SAP_ALL to the users doesn't help, then you are not facing an authorization problem. We have had similar problems when transporting. This was solved by implementing SAP Note 1260759 - 'Dependent obj. also written to orders in import postprocess'.

Giving SAP_ALL and checking is always an option - but that does not serve the purpose.

We followed the TR logs & added all the mentioned objects to the person doing the Import, but that did not help.

We need help for finding the exact reason for the error.

Is it misleading?

Even the note mentioned seems to be unrelated.

Thanks
