Create New Version in Dms

Hi

I am new to DMS.

I have a basic query about versioning of DIR.

I have created a DIR with status in Released.

I have attached a original application to the DIR. Now when I am creating a new version of DIR, original application file is also getting copied to the new version.

My problem is that when i have created a new version i donot want the original application file in the new version

For creating New Version i am using function module CVAPI_DOC_CREATE_NEW_VERSION

and for saving CVAPI_DOC_CHECKIN.

Is there any settings which I am missing?

how to retrieve files from DMS and store in the local Disk,which Bapi transcation is used for this

i have find the answer using CVAPI_DOC_MAINTAIN vapi we can create the Document as well as we can create new version of the same Document and pass t-code as 'CVO1XN'

are you sure, that this belongs to SRM???

By default the checked in documents are copied over when you create a new version using the old version of the DIR. If you create the new version using the t-code CV01N then the checked in documents are not copied over.
