Sorry for asking a basic question.I want to know what is directorry service and how is LDAP connected to it .

Hi,

Directory service is a way to manage your SAP users.

Directory Services... is a simply a piece of software that let you administrate lots of different types of data, including user administration, policies, printers...etc,

Example,

MS Active Directory

LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is a protocol to connect to this Directory services..
