Hi,
I read that at the moment the Synchronization Manager is not developed further. My
intention was using the manager to have a second database that is always on the same level
as the original database (disaster recovery concept). Does it make sense to carry on
dealing with the manager?
For test purposes, I have set up two databases DBMASTER and DBCLIENT on the Linux system and have started the message server there. If I try to start Syncservice, I get the message 4004: File replication_unit missing.
I created two User DBSERVICE with the flag replication.
How can I indicate on my PC using the DBMGUI the synchronizationgui? I do not find any index
card or anything similar on my screen.
Best regards
Harald Kühne
Hello,
the first step is to design your replication landscape with the Synchronization Manager GUI and to activate it on both databases. The error you get indicates that you don't have any replication units designed.
Two remarks:
you should start here to find out what kind of replication you want to realize.

If the Synchronization Manager (and not the MaxDB Loader http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_6/59/025741c0c28447e10000000a1550b0/content.htm)
is really what you need you can start here.

As mentioned before there is no further development at the moment for the Synchronization Manager.
The Synchronization Manager itself will not be supported from MaxDB Version 7.8.
Best Regards
Wolfgang
