Hi Experts,
We are installing a 2 system landscape Solution Manager DEV and PRD. Trex is a requirement.
What should we do, should we install 2 TRex systems one for DEV and one for PRD or should we have only one TRex installation working for both environments? What would be the pro's and con's of the 2 approaches? Can you advice on this?
Many thanks,
Aldo
Hello
as a best practice you should have a 3 tier Landscape consisting of trex Dev/QA and PROD
That way you can ensure that all trex instances can be allocated to your remaining SAP D/Q/P-Landscape and build a 1 to 1 relataionship
This will also ease the development on D and unittesting in Q as there will be no impact to production trex
Actually what we run at the moment is only a 2 tier landscape due to cost reason. We have connected all SAP-Development and quality systems (like ECC, Erec, HCM, XI, BW) to our TREX-DEV. All SAP-Prod Systems are connected to the dedicated trex Production Server
