Alert is not sent by email

Hi folks,

Iu2019m having a problem to receive PI alters by email. The alerts were defined with the new PI alert category at ESR and I am using them at my ccBPM. Iu2019ve configured the following:

SU01 - Assigned the Email ID for the Recipient of the ALERT.

ALRTCATDEF - the used ID is subscribed for this alert category.

ALRTINBOX (the same as in RWB) PERSONALIZATION > Iu2019ve set Time Independent Delivery and Email are selected.

SCOT is configured.

No mails go to SOST but if I try with RSALERTTEST it works fine. I think Iu2019ve checked all configuration steps, with exception of Alert configuration at RWB, because I donu2019t have access to Alert configuration and inbox. I already requested this configuration to my basis team but they didnu2019t configure yet (I use tcode ALRTINBOX do get there). Anyway, I think I donu2019t need RWB access as in my inbox (ALRTINBOX) I get the alerts.

Any idea of what is missing here?

BTW u2013 Iu2019m working with PI 7.1 SP07

Thanks in advance,

Ricardo.

You need to configure the alert rule in RWB using alertconfiguration and need to select your category there

Ok Rajesh,

I'll ask basis team to configure the alert config and inbox at RWB

BTW - I also checked the note 913858 question 8 and no dumps with PIRWBUSER.

Thanks & regards,

Ricardo.

Hi Rajesh,

I didn't wait for basis team, I used the tcode SXMSALRT it gives me the Alert configuration page of RWB. I created the rules for each alert category:

- rule is set to active.

- supress multiple alerts of this rule is set.

- connected to message > not relevant.

- where did the error occur? > No restrictions.

But I still can't see my alters going to SCOT nor SOST.

Any idea?

I checked again ST22 and no dumps today.

regards,

Ricardo.

I checked the SU01 and set the communication method to E-mail, but it didn't solve.

Hey looks like Domain is not provided while configuring SMTP

Did you provide the domain name by checking interner option tab in SMTP configuration

Also check in end-end monitoring settings and change the frequency to every 5 minutes

Hi Rajesh,

You save my day man! The basis guy forgot to set the domain at SCOT.

SCOT > settings > default domain.

After that every alerts went to SOST

Many thanks and 10 points for you pal

Ricardo.
