how to show live news using RSS feed on Portal logon page

Hi Frndz..

I want to show the live update news on Portal logon page,i don't have any idea bout this, i gone thru some blogs n forums so i came to know this can be possible with integratiing RSS on portal.

Can any bady have idea , plz suggest me to reslove this task

Hi Rajesh,

Your problem can be resolved by using the RSS feeds available , for Eg. Yahoo news. Search in google for news RSS feeds. Lot many will be available. Read carefully the RSS feed usage policy.

If satisfied, copy the RSS feed http address and use it as described below.

You just have to create an "XML iview" in SAP portal and specify this Url in the XML iview. Use the XML transformation format:RSS_TO_XHTMLB. Once done, you embed this iview to the Page-> Role. and your application will run fine.

Make sure that there is no firewall protection for internet sites. Else you have to consult the network team to open port for this specific RSS feed URL.
