QM- BATCH MANAGEMENT

Dear all

What is the use of batch management in QM. In MM03 the batch management is ticked, In MIGO the batch number of incoming Raw material is entered.Similarly how is the batch management done for inprocess semi finished goods. Kindly explain.

Hi selva kumar,

1) Batch management in QM used , as the result recording is done against inspection lot , All result recording information passes to the batch management after we taken the UD. So it is useful for one to find which batch number for the material having result say 90 % Purity or in some cases ur product may not come within tolerance range , that time we reject the characteristic .

2)As the inspection lot is created against good receipt of purchased order we can track the vendor. As Good receipt against a Production order . so that time we can track production order No reference to the batch , the same fert material we sold to the customer that time batch number plays important role .

3)Batch management is mostly used in chemical and pharmaceutical industry where material is sensitive means expiry date concept comes in to picture that time recurring inspection is very useful
