Performance issues with "master" queries for use with Webi - why??
I've been reading about potential performance issues if you attempt to use "large" BW queries for use with Web Intelligence. I'm more familiar with using BW queries with Crystal Reports, where this is not an issue (at least in my understanding). With Crystal Reports, a characteristic or key figure is not included in the MDX statement until it is actually used somewhere in the Crystal Report. I may have hundreds of characteristics and key figures defined in my BW query but if I only reference 1 characteristic and 1 key figure in my Crystal Report that is all that is included in the final MDX request that gets sent to BW.
Is this not the way it works with Webi?
