Hi,
I have created a new role with customized user menu. After assigning this role to my users, they start complaining about a very slow login to SAP as well as when opening a new session!
Any hits would be greatly appreciated ..

Dear Sheikh,
To confirm the issue, use transaction STAD and filter by response time of the users - does it fit to the times which they experience? If the users experience higher than the STAD response time, then it could be a browser side issue (or network issue) which somehow ovelapped with the change of role, but is not related to the change of roles.
If STAD time is high, then look at the CPU time and DB Time - take ST30 and ST05 traces to narrow down the issue. Is it possible that you activated Authentication trace on the ABAP server and then did not switch it back?

You might want to start setting traces. The first would be in ST01 (set a specific filter for a user account) and the second could be from the SAPGUI side. You might also want to check the work process traces in SM50 for any clues and monitor the WP's during the login process.
