I try to display physical file name using AL11 . the path exists at is level in win NT and given all permisions/sharing.
but am not able to view the file. What could be the problem??

Not completely clear on query. But could you please try
AL11
double click on DIR_HOME
double click on any trace file.

When I try to open dir (which is the at os level) under .txt files getting below error
Unable to display content of file.
I suggest you to try with <sid>adm.
Thats simply a format issue. As far as i know you're not able to open txt files from AL11... (I just tested in my system)... but you will be able to browse anything under the standart format.
