HI ,

I want to know what is mouting in unix.PLease can any body help me in this regard .In google i didnt find a answer that i was able to understand. I come from a windows background.

Hello Ambarish,

Mounting in Unix is nothing but making the filesystem available in your environment.

In Windows, you might see the drives directly which is not possible in UNIX

Each and every drive, floppy disk, CD/DVD drives should be mounted first to use it.

Google it for the file which you need to update with the informatin like File System, drive name etc.,
