Pay slip servgice access issue in ESS

Greetings,

We are using ESS application, where Pay slip is one of the services enabled. From Authorization side we have one common Back end ESS role and one Portal ESS role for all the services. We have around 1700 ESS users in the company. For all the employees these roles are assigned to their User ID with the same Parameter values. All the employees were able to view / create / change the respective services (also the Pay slip) enabled for them with the respective authorization.

Recently we had a problem for one of the ESS user ID, where he was not able to view his Pay slip. Back end role and the ESS portal role has been assigned to him and also the Parameter setting for the Backend role is also the same as other employees. But still he is not able to access his Pay slip.

For the same employee we created a new ESS ID (through copy option) with reference to the existing user ID and assigned it to his 105 info type. Surprisingly with the new user ID he is able to view his pay slip. As mentioned earlier the new ID is the copy of the Old ID and with the Old ID he was not able to access his Pay slip. Where as with the New ID he can view the Pay slip.

Please let us know what would be the issue.

When you say User is unable to access Payslip, if you are suggested that Payslip page is blank? or there are no results displayed in Service?

If this is first one, then mostly due to personalization "remove from page" user might have removed the Pay slip iview from page. You can reset these personalization using Portal Admin "Personalization Clean up".you can search forum to find out how exactly this is performed.

if there is no pay slip data displayed, as in you get to see message "no payroll results found for XXXXXX". Then it has to be authorization issue.

Hi Sudir,

Thanks for the responce. But for this issue, the "default setting" is there in the "Personalization list". In the top of the screen it displays "Paycheck Inquiry service" and the payslip is not displayed. To check for the Authorization issue as in your case-2 we gave SAP_ALL access and tried. But still the same issue.

From the Personalization option, when I remove the Pay slip service and go for the "refresh", the title "Paycheck Inquiry Service" is not displayed and also no Payslip is displayed (which is as in your reply for case 1).

Hi Sudir,

Got this issue resolved through the following Personalization path.

System Administration->Support->Portal Content Directory->Personalization Cleanup.
