Stock Availability Problem in Sales

Hello All,

The problem is related to Stock Availability at the time of Post Goods Issue (PGI) in Sales which is given below with an example -

1st April 2009 - 2000 pc of Material A is received.

2nd April 2009 - 2000 pc of Material A is issued and the stock position becomes 0.

Again on 3rd April 2009 - GR is done for 5000 pc of Material A and the stock becomes 5000 pc for Material A.

Now a sales order is raised and delivery is created for 2000pc of material A where the Actual GI date is given 2nd April 2009 for the material A.(On this date the stock became 0 as mentioned earlier).Still the system is allowing to do PGI.

If the stock is not available on the given date how come the System is allowing to proceed in this situation?

Please provide suggestions to prevent this situation.

Good question. I tested it and I have the same experience (even though negative stock is not allowed, with this techinque it is possible to realize negative stock). I searched for OSS notes as well as for threads w/o result.

Maybe you should ask SAP AG and they can answer your question. If you do this please tell us their answer...

Though you have said that stock is not available, please once again check in MMBE whether any spill over is available under Unrestricted. Next check your schedule line category in VOV6 where for your schedule line category, you have ticked the field "Availability" or not.

Hi Priyanka

First of all check in MD04 wheather there are any open sales orders or not as per your given data.

As you have done GR for 5000pcs for Material A and you have created a sales order for 2000pcs then you can do the delivery today also manually even though the Actual GI date is 02/04/2009. .

Just assign factory calendar 01 in the shipping point and then create the sales order , so that when you create sales order then the Actual GI date will be different
