Im new to HCM forms.

how to create field group to be used in generic services?

what is the purpose of creating field group generally?

any comments/suggestion will be greatly appreciated!

Field groups are usually for your generic services in HCM P&F, you can perform operations on field groups.

In HR administrative services in SPRO, you can see an option for creating field groups and operations, you assign the field groups to operations.

Read the documentation in SPRO for that link, it is very clear and easy to understand.

Ya, i found this in the SPRO. Thanks.

I still need to dont understand why we need to use field group.

Normally we only need to include all field(s) as 1 field group, and those field(s) is signature of operation?

Eg, i want to retrieve position desc based after user selected position id in drop down list.

In my ZGET_POS_DESC generic serv, GET_POS_DESC operation will return POSITION_TXT.

Thus, i need to use a field group with 1 field POSITION_TXT?
