Model Dest have your Source server that is J2ee and Target server that is ABAP engine, in order to cnnect u have to select a login methos while creating of JCO, and passing of user name and password which can access to the backend system,

the j2ee and abap engine are defined in the SLD with unique name and ID, you can select them as part creating of JCo's,

You call the RFCs from some backend. You have to ensure connectivity to this backend, then only you can import the RFC as a model in your webdynpro.

When importing an adaptive RFC Model you have to specify the logical system (Representing the backend connections) names for model instances and RFC metadata:

The Default logical system for model instances is WD_MODELDATA_DEST (for RFC data)

Default logical system name for RFC metadata is WD_RFC_METADATA_DEST (For metadata)

If you give different names for these logical systems while importing your model, you'll then have to separately configure them using the JCO Connections screen of the J2EE Engine Web Dynpro Content Administrator.
