My Solution manager system is showing under wrong product version when I see it under maintenance optimiser - It shows SAP Netweaver 7 but it should show under SAP Solution Manager 7.0. I know to make this change I have to delete this system from system landscape and add it under SAP Solution manager category but I want to know if there is any adverse affect since this is being used in several system groups and landscapes. Please suggest how i can make this change
Hi Bill,
I think you have the wrong defination in System Landscape(SMSY).
You can check your system in tx: SMSY. The product of your solution manager might be defined as Netweaver 7.0. Just change the product assignment to SAP Solution Manager 7.0 or add additional product there, then, you can find the correct product in maintenance optimizer.
Hope that helps, feel free to reply if you still got problems.

Hi Jett,
When i try to add the product I am getting this message -
Diagnosis
You want to flag the product version SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0 as the
leading product version for system XX.
System Response
When you save your data, you can use the system under this product
version only.
The system is used under other product versions, and these uses cannot
be adusted automatically.
The action is cancelled.
Procedure
Check whether these uses are still correct. If necessary, replace the
system with a different system or adapt the product version to the uses
Hi Bill,
I think the major problem is that, you have already assigned this system in the logical component. If you change system leading product, logical component will not be change automatically. You have to perform:
1. clear the defination of the system in logical component as netweaver
2. set leading product as SAP Solution Manager
3. add system into logical component as Solution Manager
Make sure that, whether the logical component is defined into certain solution. If you delete the system in logical component, the data of your system which has been assigned into the solution might be lost!
Hope that helps.
