Odd problem
We are close ro the end of the CPC. I had reset the DDIC password back to 19920706 in client 000 as per the manual.
dbcpip.r3s runs but still wants the password. Even when I enter 19920706 it still loops and rejects the password. SO I set DDIC.000 to something else. Same problem.
I am using a Vista version of mocha 5250 emulation.
I manually ran the program RDDGENMC in 000 as ddic because the password is correct.
Looking at the manual I saw a similar issue and upgraded the kernel to 46d #2417. Same problem.
Error msg below says the ping failed but I can ping the IP from my remote session over VPN
We are at v5r4. Anyone else had this one?
Thanks
Matt

Initializing matchcode objects with RFC
WARNING 2009-04-02 18:08:20 RFCRDDGENMC_IND_IND CRfcPing:0
Pinging of RFC destination failed.
Initializing matchcode objects with RFC
Starting the program RDDGENMC to activate runtime object for synchronous
matchcodes
This step starts RDDGENMC wih a remote function call (RFC) to the SAP System
as the user DDIC. When executing the remote function call, the SAP System User DDIC tries to log on with the default password.
This will fail if DDIC's password has been changed. In this case you have to
provide the actual password of DDIC.
Please enter the password.
Interestingly enough it looks like there is an RFC issue. On sm59 the internal connection back to the server fails a test and it looks like it showing junk charatcters.
On SGEN there is no server to select for the abap generation.

Hi Matt,
I fully agree here - I'm pretty sure, you didn't read the docu ;-(
My guess is, that at least one of the codepage parameters in RZ10 is active with 0120 ;-(
=> delete them and restart SAP
