Hello,

We have 6.40 conent server. running on 7.6.00.18 SAPDB. from this year begining the SAPDB dumping every 15 days. it is crashing some 20-30 min before a backup. and while it tries kernel dump it run out of space...on that particular file system

The file system had space, when this happened.then during this dump happens the file system sends alert that it is 100 % full The DB goes offline. what we did was to make it online. I added file system space after that. This happened couple of times.

when I opened a message the tech said this happens during the backup....that I m not buying it because this happens happens every 2 weeks....we take full backup everyday.

Then he suggested to upgrade the SAPDB....

Please let me know what version I can upgrade to 7.7 or just patch up the existing 7.6.00.18

Also please let me know if you had similar experience.

vfwrite cannot write : No space left on device

This suggest that you runned out of space... but if its not the case then it might be a bug.

No an expert in the subject... but you can try to patch the 7.6 to see if it fix the problem before you consider upgrading to 7.7

That's my 2 cents

Backups are security relevant, but for the technical process you will have better luck in the NW Admin forum...
