Hi All
When ever i run Incremental Offline Backkup, i get the below message, bigining of the backup. But backup is successful.

BR0114W Software compression not supported for 'incr'
BR0055I Start of database backup: beaglxos.ifd 2009-04-01 21.30.26
BR0484I BRBACKUP log file: D:\oracle\NPI\sapbackup\beaglxos.ifd
BR0477I Oracle pfile D:\oracle\EO1\102\database\initNPI.ora created from spfile D:\oracle\EO1\102\database\spfileNPI.ora
please share your ideas

Hello,
Software compression only works for file-based backups; the files, as they are read, are sent through a software compression tool e.g. UNIX 'compress'. An "incr" (incremental) backup implies that you use the Oracle RMAN. RMAN accesses the data blocks of the DB directly, so this is not a file system backup => hence no software compression.
The message is only a warning (the "W" after the error code), which explains why you still get your backup.
