Hi,

we need to do cost planning for our projects. the requirements are:

there are 4 types of costs in our projects that we want to plan for every project - manpower cost, capital expense, travel expense, other expenditures.

and all the costs will be at the top wbs element of the project only.

which cost planning (hierarchical or unit or detailed or easy) is advised for this scenario?

please advise

Thanks!

Hi,

When you create a base planning object, it is always linked to a costing variant. This costing variant contains all the information needed to cost the object.

In CJR2, In Entry tab (At the bottom of the CJR2 screen), we can see two options. One is "Free" & other one is "Form-Based". What's is the difference & impact these two options.

We can see the same options in KP26 also.

thanks!

but why not detailed or easy cost planning.

we want cost planning to be cost element specific and we want to use CO versions also.

U can get cost element wise report when u use unit costing...and also u can do planning in different CO versions..

Unit costing suits your requirement, where in you can make your cost plan based on cost elements & also you can maintain different CO versions.

If you want to go for ECP, then you'll have to create templates.

Even end user would be convenient in using unit costing.

ECP can be done without any costing model or template....u can use it like unit costing

Hi,

You can go for Cost Element Planning in CJR2.

You can have Excel upload functionality in this transaction.
