Hello,
Is it possible to encrypt password during SAP Logon connection without using SNC ?
Maybe this is the default process but in this case what is the encryption protocol or procedure?
We need to be sure that the password cannot be read by somebody sniffing the network.
Thanks
Regards
chris

I find in the security guide that the password is compressed :
SAP GUI for Windows
For the transport between the SAP GUI for Windows and the application server, the data
is compressed.
What does exactly mind ?
Thanks

Hi Chris,
When you login from GUI (windows) it uses SAP's GUI protocol. The data that is send via GUI protocol is compressed but it's not an encryption. To transfer data in encrypted form you've use SNC or an external security product.
