I created an Infospoke that is dumping out data to a flat file on the application server. I have a business requirement where we would like to get this data out to another server. I just need to drop the file into a particular directory and do not want to send it to another application via the API calls. In some cases this is a directory on an unix server and in others it would be a Windows box. Is there a way in an infospoke to automatically send this file out to a remote server?
thanks,
Larry
Hi Larry,
Welcome to SDN!!
You would need to define the path in the transaction in AL11 and then it would be available in the drop down in the Infospoke.

Hi Larry,
Perhaps using a logical path may help but you need to do some more things to be able to store the file into a remote server. Here are my thoughts:
1) If your BW server is a Unix server and the remote server is a Unix server then construct a process chain containing your infospoke followed by a system command process variant. It is the job of the system/unix command to send the data to the remote server. One possible command for example is "scp myuser@remoteserver.com:/var/opt/targetdirectory/"
2) if your BW server is a Unix server and the remote server is a Unix server then perhaps you can share the target directory in the remoter server using NFS and map it a local directory in your BW server e.g. /var/opt/remotedirectory/. You can the use a logical file configured to point to /var/opt/remotedirectory/ in your InfoSpoke.
