How to import PLD Layout

hi,

i want to know how to import a PLD Report from SBO Database to another?

Is there a tool that can help doing that?

Please follow these steps to copy PLD from one DB(Test DB) to another DB(Live DB)

1. Login to the Test DB and open the PLD. Click on menu 'Print Layout Designer' and select 'Display Hidden Fields'

2. Goto Edit Menu and select 'Select All'

3. Copy All the fields (select copy from Edit Menu)

4. Click on Administration and select Choose Company and login to the Live DB.

Note: Donot Logoff from the Test DB)

5. Open the PLD in Live DB. Click on menu 'Print Layout Designer' and select 'Display Hidden Fields'

6. Goto Edit Menu and select 'Select All'

7. Delete All the fields

8. Now Paste the fieds which you copied from 'Test DB'.

Note:

Ensure that the Document Properties like Width, Height, Top Margin, LeftMargin etc.., are same before pasting in 'Live DB'

Do you have either CopyExpress or Usability Pack addon?

Hi Achref zaidi,

Copy Express follows 2 approaches:

1. Copyimg data between two databases on the same SQL Server

OR

2. Exporting data from Database1 on SQL Server A into XML and import the XML on SQL Server B into Database2.

Hi,

There are different ways to do that:

1. Using Copy Express addon - you can copy layouts in bulk between db's or save them as xml to import them.

2. Using Usability Pack addon - creates an xml file with the layout which you can import to any of the db's.

3. Copy them manually accross databases, in this case open PLD, select all the fields including the hidden ones, CTRLC then FROM THE SAME INSTANCE OF SAP log into the database where you want to import it to. Then open any of the existing layouts, select all fields including the hidden ones, delete all of them and press CTRLV to paste the copied fields. At this point you will receive a message if you want to use the original ID numbers for the fields, choose 'Yes' otherwise your formulas might not work. Save the layout.
