Hi,

We need to install Ecc 6.0 in i5/OS server. We have 32 bit windows server with us. As per the docuement we need to install TMKSVR to start the installation.

What we need to do before installing TMKSVR.

What we need to do after installation of TMKSVR. After the TMKSVR do we need to start sapinst directly or something else we need to do.

Alos please let me know if anything else is there apart form this as well.

Thanks,

Bhanu Pratap Singh

First thing is to get a virtual server to do your installation on. Then you will need to create a user, SAPINST, make sure that that user has *SECOFR authorization. You will then need to install the TMKSVR installation tool. Start your SAPinst from TMKSVR. Select SAP component you want to install, then start the installation. Be sure to perform all post installation steps.

Here is a great IBM redbook, go to IBM.com/redbooks and search for An overview of installing SAP applications on IBM system I models.

This will give you some good guidance on the install.

Hi,

I am follwing the same steps but geeting an error while installing TMKSVR on I series server through windows server.

While installing TMK server it is giving error whenit is checking instance

An errro ocured during installation (send TMKMessage:" could not send message, no connection available.)

Other question where do we need to copy all the DVD"S of SAP on i5/OS ? I have copied it on the windows server already.

Thanks,

Hi Bhanu,

you need to copy ALL CDs, that are needed during the installation to the i5 and the Win PC needs to access them via the rootbin share.

Is it correct, that even the TMKSVR doesn't install properly ? (takes onlny 1 minute)

If yes, I guess, that the default filesystem in FTP is changed with CHGFTPA to IFS instead of QSYS.LIB - you should change it back to standard, restart the ftp server and retry. after the tmksvr installation, you can revert it.

I found I could not run the TMKSVR install from a Windows Server. I had to install it on a PC running Windows XP and it worked perfectly.
