Yes,
You have 2 options...
1.Active Products
2.Inactive Products
1.Active Products are those which can be accessed by a User in creating a SC
2.Inactive Products cannot be accessed by users.
If you want to save the Product in SRM which needs some modifications further you can save them as inactive,which are saved as active products once all changes are done and released for use.
