How the OCI Integration is done?

Enterprise Portal is the front end ( UI ) which is basically integrated with MDM as the backend. Hence generally in MDM implementations you will find the portal being integrated with MDM so that the Users can access the Master data from the MDM in Portal. They also perform other activities such as record creation/updation and also in some cases MDM workflows are executed through portal which depends upon the business requirement.

Bi is a reporting tool and is used with MDM when we need to generate accurate reports based on the Correct master data. For the integration refer the link below:

Hi,

EP-MDM integration is basically used where data is to created in MDM using Portal as front end.This is one of the example of CMDM(Central Master data management).

BI-MDM integration is used basically to generate correct reports.Tha data coming from various source systems is cleansed ,Deduplicated in MDM.This data can them b used by BI for reporting purpose.

XI or R/3 communication---In this u get data from R/3 systems in MDM and the clean it n send it back to R3 if required.however R3 doesnt accept data in text or XML format .IT accepts Idoc so XI is used to convert it to Idoc n send it R3.Similarly get data from R3(Idoc) n Convert it to XML to pass it to MDM.

OCI is used to coonect third party catalogs to SRM .This is used in SRM MDM catalog where MDM is data hub for catalog data used for shopping cart creation in SRM
