Can somebody please throw light on T.code /SAPAPO/CDPSB0 - Production Planning Run .
Your help is appreciated.
Hi ChandanaKalluri,
Production planning run is to execute planning run in PPDS online. This planning run can be executed in many ways, one is by creating suitable variants based on your selection criteria and then execute it using t-code /SAPAPO/CDPSB1 - Production Planning Run in the Background. Another way is to execute it in foreground using t-code /SAPAPO/CDPSB0 - Production Planning Run.
If any simulation version is there in your scenario, you can select that so that system will write the results in that first and then later on it will be copied to active version. You can have option to display the logs generated during the planning run. In this run, you can arrange the various heuristic you want to perform during the PPDS planning run [Steps] and then carry out sequentially.
This PPDS planning run can also be performed in stereoselective manner like resources, orders, operations, products etc., During planning run, planning file entries will get generated for the products which undergo planning run. PP/DS planning run can be performed in three ways like heuristic, optimisation or detailed scheduling etc.,

Hello ChandanaKalluri,
If I understood your doubt, you would like to understand what transaction /SAPAPO/CDPSB0 do, correct?
Please see below a resume:
Production Planning Runs (/SAPAPO/CDPSB0 )
In APO-PP/DS, it is easy to construct the automatic production planning
process from several steps. The individual steps are simply specified
in the production planning run. An example of how individual
steps can be placed in a logical sequence is shown below:
1. Requirements planning based on MRP logic
2. Scheduling of capacities for bottleneck resources
3. Requirements planning for the materials for which capacity planning
has resulted in shifts in requirements
These steps can be easily defined using procedures referred to as heu-
ristics, and can be limited to specific materials or resources
The result of this kind of planning run (which, in practice,
often comprises up to 10 steps) is a procurement plan, which allows
for as many conditions of planning as possible (capacity bottlenecks,
deadlines).
I hope it could help you.
Thanks for post!
