Q: On exporting alert rules from 1 ENV to another

Hi all,

I did a research here on sdn on transporting of alert rules from 1 env to anthr....

Looks to me that all have come to a conclusion that you need to manually create the alert rules in each env..and then link it with an alert category.

Is that the only way? is there no integrated mechanism of transporting these objects via CTS?

Not VIA CTS. But you can do it as an ABAP transport. Still you h=would have to make changes for th new system names in the RWB of the new system. Follow the below steps -

a. SE16, open table SXMSALERTRULES

b. Run query.

c. Select the rows you want.

d. Menu u2013Table Entry -> Transport Entries.

e. Create transport request.

f. Release transport.
