problem with PO printing

Former Member

Hi Experts,

Our printer settings is having access method G (front end printing with control tech.)

Host printer : __DEFAULT. Device type: SAPWIN.

We are not able to print POs directly. It goes to spool and there it is in waiting state and shows the status "frontend available".

In the log it says: "Unable to connect to output processor"

Kindly suggest.

Regards,

Amit Jana.

HI,

This problem has been solved as per note 854044. After applying this note its working fine in development system. Our kernel patch level is not uptodate in qas and prd. Need to do kernel upgrade as per note 901244.

Regards,

Amit Jana.

Hi Amit ,

If your OS is XP ( Machine on which printer is installed ) make sure firewall is off.

Make sure printer is properly working by taking .xls or .doc printout from the machine on which printer is installed.

Check printer sharing, also check host file on the server having proper entry.

Are those batch jobs? They won't work with access method G.

I highly suggest avoiding frontend printing and create the printer on a print server (or your SAP system) if they have a network card.

Hi Amit,

It seems to be a problem with the printer, check whether the printer is connected properly

Also give some print outs from SAP (apart from PO) and check if it is printing
