Error in phase: DDIC_ACTIVATION

Former Member

We are upgrading ECC 6.0 with EhP 3, but we received the following error message:

============================================================

The installation was stopped, since an error occurred during the phase

DDIC_ACTIVATION, which the Add-On Installation Tool is unable to resolve

without your input.

After you have corrected the cause of the error, continue with the

import by choosing Continue in the queue display.

The following details help you to analyze the problem:

- Error in phase: DDIC_ACTIVATION

- Reason for error: TP_STEP_FAILURE

- Return code: 0008

- Error message: OCS Package SAPK-603DDINEAAPPL, tp step A, return

code 0008

============================================================

We have found some information related to this issue:

Sugestao 1:

Hai,

To view the cause of the error in the activation log, choose Goto -- Log -- Queue.

Please post the logs.

If you import two or more Support Packages in a queue, activation errors can result from an incorrect activation sequence for Dictionary objects. If this is the case, the activation errors disappear if the objects are activated again. To do this, choose Support Package -- Import queue.

Check in SAP Market place for some SAP Notes for known problems.

Regards,

Yoganand.V

Sugestao 2:

Start it again, if it fails start it again

It happens sometimes. I would also recommend that you kill the tp.exe window that opened after each import it takes longer then but you shouldn't get too many big issues then.

But these have not done the trick.

Would you please assist us?

Thanks!

Hugo,

Please find the extract from the following link.

TP_STEP_FAILURE: tp step DDIC_ACTIVATION could not be executed successfully. To view the cause of the error in the activation log, choose Goto -> Log -> Queue.

Hello Hugo,

This is not what we are looking at!!

In SPAM screen,in the menu above there is an options of checking the import logs of the queue which tell clearly what the error is(I mean where the error has occured in which table),you need to find that so that we can reslove the issue
