Budget Structure

Hi Experts,

In my project, already we did entire cycle from Project System to MM. Now my client wants do some changes in Investment module that u201C relocation of one budget structure to another budget structureu201D.

If I did this changes as per client request, the entire cycle which was done already will gets affected of this changes ..Please confirm me whether entire cycle will gets affected of this budget structure change.

Hi Kelvin,

The cycle that you have already executed need notr get affected by the change in the IM structure or Budgeting provided.

You can isolate your project from IM till the time these changes are carried out. There may be few other ways depending your particular situation, but I am writing one possible way:

1. Take a snap shot of all Budget/Release values for the proj

2. De-activate Budget Availability control on the project

3. Delete all release for lower level WBSE

4. Delete Budget for lower level WBSE

5. Delete Release as well as Budget for the top level WBSE

6. Delete the assignment to the IM program

7. Carryout changes to the IM program structure and budgeting

8. Reassign the project to the program

9. carryout the budgeting/release again

10. activate availability control

Hi,

There should not be any problem.You dont have to repeat the entire cycle. You can carry out consistency check one you do the changes.
