hi mates
as we all know idoc's doesnt need a sender adapter, but i have a doubt. XI understands only xml.
so now how and where did the incoming idoc gets converted into xml format without any adapters.
kindly answer the question brief and clear.
regards
mano
As a matter of fact it is just that you dont use or configure the sender IDoc adapter. But by default a sender Idoc adapter exists in the Integration engine It is this Idoc adapter that does the conversion ....
If you need further details I suggest reading through this link - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/b9/c5b13bbeb0cb37e10000000a11402f/content.htm
Note: From PI7.1 you can actually configure the sender IDoc adapter also.

the logic goes the same here too..
there is an inbound HTTP sender adapter in the integration engine.
The HTTP address actually points to that inbound channel when you trigger a http call.
Note that this channel is also configurable.
