Graphical mapping - inactive toolbar

Hi experts,

In IR when creating a graphical mapping between 2 similar message types, I want to use the feature

"Map selected fields and substructures if names are identical".

It is on the toolbar on the Design tab but it is inactive.

Text preview or Dependencies is also greyed out.

(The Edit Java section button is however active and accessible - not sure what makes the difference)

Do you have any idea what might be the reason and how can I access these features?

Many thanks

Hi Gabor,

Which is the XI/Pi version are you working?

Unless your are in PI 7.1, your jre (Java Runtime Enviroment) environment must not be higher than 1.4.2_19...

I mean, if yoy are in PI 7.0 or XI 3.0 you must not install 1.5... jre versions.

If you install the apropiate jre, your problem will be solved.

carlos

Hi Gabor,

Java version gets updated automatically if you chose the check box "Check for Updates Automatically"

in Control Panel->Java Plug In (OPen the Update Tab).

Make sure you have this Unchecked, so that your Java version doesn't get upgraded automatically.

Ravi

Hi,

The issue is definitely with the JAVA version you are using. Check if the version is lower than or equal to 1.4.2_xx. Otherwise few features doesn't work (gets disabled).

Thanks,

Subhajit.

Hey,

This is because of the version problem. Please install J2SE 5.0 Update 13.

Check if your jdk version is heigher than 1.4.2_xx then it will be disabled. So you need to install

j2sdk 1.4.2_xx.

We were having the same issue and by doing so it got resolved.
