It seems to be an update problem,problem with update work processes
Please check how many update processes are there in the system and let me know

do following things:
Go to RZ11,in the parameter value,type rdisp/wp_no_vb and check its value.
if the value is 0,you will have to change the value of this parameter in RZ10 otherwise update can't be activated
If the no of processes are more than 0,then follow the below to activate updates:
Go to SM13,choose Administration. Then click the pushbutton activate next to the line Status Update is not activate and activate(Please expore properly in SM13 screen,you will find the option to activate)
