Hi,
When we create a service contract in ECC for a particular product
category with item category 'D'Service and account assignment category
as 'U' Unknown, the system automatically overrides the Unit of Measure
to EPU for both Order Unit of Measure and OPU.However, for a service
contract this is the header line and the sub services lines accomodates
all the ISO Codes UOM.
This created contract is now available as a source of supply when the
same contract product category is selected on the shopping cart.
However, the system assigns the header Service contract line item to
the shopping cart and not the sub service line items as possible source
of supply.
The user now posts this shopping cart with the line item containing the
base unit of measure as 'EA' each. This Shopping cart now fails with
the status 'Error in Transmission'. Erro Message reads "Order unit of
Measure EPU and Base Unit of Measure EA is not compatible. This
behaviour is not right, as the system should have performed the
following:
1.) The system should not have assigned the header line item of the
service contract as a source of supply, as the EPU is not a ISO Code
UOM and the user will never select that on the shopping cart. The
system should have actually assigned the sub level services lines as a
source of supply to the shopping cart.
2.) Perform a validation check in the system and issue an error message
to the end user that the "Order unit of Measure EPU and Base Unit of
Measure EA is not compatible"
Can anybody please advise on what i am possibly missing. This issue is impacting several users at our clients place.
