Problem with sales order consumption

Hi

I hope someone can help? I have a problem with consumption of sales orders in APO. When a sales order comes across from R/3 it doesn't consume the forecast until a later sales order comes across, then the previous one consumes forecast. So all sales orders consume forecast apart from the latest one on each material.

Hi michael,

Please check whether requirement strategy(make to order), strategy group, consumption mode in mrp3 tab, consumption mode in apo customisation as "online consumption" are defined in system.

The settings are

Check mode = 050

Proposed Strategy = 20

Consumption mode = 2 (30 days backward, 30 days forward)

Consumption type = online consumption

I was under the impression it was master data related too but now I've checked all the settings I'm not so sure. I've looked around and checked everything I can. I just don't understand why it's only the latest order that doesn't consume.

Hi Please confirm the following are right in your strategy configuration in R/3:

Strategy: 40 Planning with final assembly

Reqmts type for indep.reqmts VSF Planning with final assembly

Reqmts class: 101

Consumption: 1 Consume planning with assembly

Planning Ind. 1 Net requirements planning

Reqmt type of customer reqmt KSV Sales order with consumption

Requirements class 050 Warehouse consumpt.

Allocation indicat. 1 Consume planning with assembly

No MRP Requirement planned

The problem has now been solved. It turned out a SAP note was the solution.

We implemented note:

0001238616 Newest sales order does not consume.

and this fixed the problem immediately.

Strange. Did you check the strategy used in demand tab of location product master in APO? The other way, what is your strategy for material in R/3?

I would check the master data settings first.

The strategy used for the material determines the sales order consumption. The consumption, requirements type and class ( becomes check mode in ATP tab in APO) in the strategy are the key deciding factors in sales order consumption.

Please let me know these settings, we can see if we can figure out something.
