I am looking for some exampe how to do a process between people using XI & BPM.

for example an employee enters the portal , asks for a vacation and goes to BPM where sends the notification to the manager.

Hi Udi,

If there is a portal page , then whenever he requests for a leave/any approval, it can directly trigger SAP Business workflow in the backend so that Human interaction will be involved on that. And no need of using XI for that.

But if you want to merge Business Workflow with BPM,then I think,it is possible to call business workflow from BPM so that human interaction will be involved.

Just my views.

Ex:There is a scenario, where some thridparty systems are feeding data to create shopping cart in the SRM with the help of Portal, and it triggers some workflow to create Purchase order. And after approval PO gets generated and it is sent to XI for thirdparty(Idoc->XI->File ).
