Dear Vipin,

Your question is a bit unclear on what exactly you want to know. NWDS 7.0 (NetWeaver Developer Studio) has an inbuilt Mobile Perspective to develop MI applications if that is what you are asking for. And, MI does not work with Blackberry, it needs a Windows Mobile 5.0,6.0 / Windows Pocket PC 2003 rugged/ non -rugged PDA or PDA Phone to work.

Please mark this question as answered if my post solves your question.

Regards,

Veera

Edit: Note - MI (Mobile Infrastructure) is mainly for offline / seldom connected/ occasionally connected scenarios. There are online/always scenarios supported by SAP check out this page:

Hi Veeraraagavan,

Thanks for your valuable input !

Well, now i am clear on the advantage of using always connected (MWD) over occasionally connected (MI).

But the problem of concern here is that my client wants to access reports which are developed in BI using their Blackberry mobiles and will it be possible using to implement so using MWD.

Thanks in Advance,

Vipin.

Dear Vipin,

The following links should solve your query:

Thanks once again Veeraraagavan for providing a very valuable input!

From the provided 1st link, it is very much clear that we can access the templates developed using WAD in Blackberry.

It would be of great help if you can tell me if the BI 7.0 with WAD 7.0 has got BEX Mobile intelligence by default in it or not.

Thanks in Advance,

Vipin.

Dear Vipin,

Yes it does. But there may be some configuration involved which I am not sure/aware of since I am not an expert in BI. Once you design your app using WAD BEx Mobile Intelligence, you should be good to go. Check this SAP help link for additional reference and clarity:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f1/50583cf7388362e10000000a114084/frameset.htm

The following is the NetWeaver 7.0 link which asks you to referd to the above link, so check this link first and then the one above:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/f1/50583cf7388362e10000000a114084/frameset.htm

I think that should solve your query.

Hi Veeraraagavan,

Having gone through the links provided by you, i have dowmloaded the MDS_runtime.

Here during the installation process of MDS_runtime, i am executing the setup.exe file and during the installatin process in the step4 i need to mention the database setting - JDBC Driver files which is successful (as by default it taking the path of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC) but when it comes to the step5(Database Settings), i need to mention the database server's host and port.

Can you please let me know what can come here/ where i can find the same.

Thanks In Advance.

Vipin.
