Hello,
we have not used PDF forms before in our system. A consultant developed a number of them in a new project and there is a problem with printing them. According to note 685571, we created a printer with PDF1 device type, but when trying to print the form, the error message "Call contained error(s) ADS(2)" appears.
What are the prerequisites in the system for using PDF based forms? Is Adobe Document Services a must? How long will it take to configure it?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
For printing Adobe forms, ADS is mandatory. It exists only on Java Stack. Just check in SM59 , Under HTTP Connections to external server, You find ADS connect. When you double click on that, you can check the 'Connection test' button on application tool bar. It shows whether you have an active ADS on your system or not. For a basis person it will take around 2 to 3 hours if Java Stack exists. If java stack doesn't exist then installation of it will take around 2 days.
