Dear Sirs,
How to make Defect Recording as mandatory, so that user is forced to record defects
Dear Ramanna
1 ) Adding to Keerthi You can even assign Defect catalogs in mic so that defect gets recorded automaticaly.
You can specify three defect codes for a quantitative characteristic:
A defect code for a general rejection
A defect code for a rejection at an upper specification limit
A defect code for a rejection at a lower specification limit
2) If without the above fucntion you want to make defect record mandatory make use of BADI QE_SAVE by which you can make the defect recording fields mandatory
Hope this helps

Gajesh

Hi
Ramana
We were facing the same problem that whien UD is RF(122 Mvt) defect should be made mandetory.
We have used following user exit.
QEVA0010 UD: Usage decision check
This will check That after UD made defect are recorded or not.

Hi Ramana,
Please activate the Defects recording indicator in the control indicators for that specific Inspection characteristic. If you set this indicator and an inspection characteristic is rejected during results recording, the function for recording defects for a characteristic is automatically called up.
But remember, it is not mandatory to enter defect, but it will prompt to enter.
Regards,
Keerthi.
